Ministry of Labour & Employment Conducts Shram Samvad Outreach
Yesterday, the Ministry of Labour & Employment expanded its Shram Samvad outreach initiative to industrial clusters across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttarakhand.
The Ministry of Labour & Employment has extended its "Shram Samvad" outreach programme to industrial clusters across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. This initiative involves direct engagement with workers and employers in key manufacturing hubs to discuss labour welfare schemes, compliance requirements, and grievance redressal mechanisms. By taking the dialogue to the shop floor, the ministry aims to improve awareness of social security benefits and labour codes among the industrial workforce in the National Capital Region and neighbouring states.
The Ministry of Labour and Employment carried its “Shram Samvad” outreach programme into industrial clusters across Delhi, Haryana and Uttarakhand on Friday, taking the government’s labour welfare dialogue directly to factory floors in the National Capital Region and the adjoining hill state (PIB).
The initiative is structured around face-to-face engagement with workers and employers in key manufacturing hubs. Officials use the sessions to explain the basket of social security schemes available under the central government, walk through compliance requirements under the new labour codes, and demonstrate how grievance redressal mechanisms function in practice (PIB).
By holding the conversations inside the clusters rather than in ministry offices, the programme attempts to close the information gap that often leaves eligible workers unaware of benefits such as accident insurance, pension contributions and maternity entitlements. Employers, meanwhile, are briefed on registration procedures, filing timelines and the penalties for non-compliance under the four consolidated labour codes that replaced 29 older statutes (PIB).
The three-state sweep covers a dense industrial corridor stretching from the capital’s peripheral estates through Haryana’s automotive and electronics belts to the pharmaceutical and auto-ancillary units clustered in Uttarakhand’s plains districts. Labour ministry teams moved simultaneously across the locations on Friday, marking the first coordinated multi-state edition of the outreach since the programme’s national launch (PIB).
No further dates or additional states for the current phase of the campaign have been announced.
