Prime Minister Chairs Meeting to Review Progress on Viksit Bharat Goals

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting of Secretaries on Tuesday to review the progress of key government departments towards the 'Viksit Bharat' goals, with a specific focus on Rural Development, Agriculture, Social Welfare and allied sectors. Secretaries from the relevant ministries presented updates on scheme saturation, last-mile delivery mechanisms, and the integration of technology for monitoring outcomes. Discussions centred on accelerating the pace of execution to meet the targets set for the 2047 vision of a developed India.

Officials indicated that the review covered the convergence of various central schemes to ensure optimal resource utilisation at the grassroots level. Particular attention was paid to the agriculture sector, where the government is pushing for increased productivity, crop diversification, and improved income support mechanisms for farmers. In the social welfare domain, the emphasis remained on ensuring that benefits reach intended beneficiaries without leakage, leveraging the JAM trinity—Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, and Mobile.

This engagement follows a similar high-level meeting held previously, establishing a pattern of direct oversight by the Prime Minister’s Office on the administrative machinery responsible for the 'Viksit Bharat' roadmap.
